This dimension groups protected areas by their official IUCN category, the international classification of how strictly an area is protected. Wikipedia describes these as "categories used to classify protected areas in a system developed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)." Browsing by IUCN category lets a visitor compare areas that carry the exact same internationally recognized protection level.
