Protected Area with Sustainable Use of Natural Resources

IUCN Category VI: areas that conserve ecosystems, together with associated cultural values and traditional natural resource management systems, generally large, with most of the area in a natural condition, where a proportion is under sustainable natural resource management and low-level non-industrial natural resource use compatible with nature conservation is one of the main aims. Belongs here: a large multi-use area combining conservation with ongoing, regulated resource use or resident community access, including a biosphere reserve or a mixed-use conservation area managed alongside pastoral or artisanal use. Does not belong here: an area where resource extraction and consumptive use are prohibited outright, held under National Park or Strict Nature Reserve.
