Blackacre State Nature Preserve is a 271 acre nature preserve and historic homestead near Jeffersontown within Louisville, Kentucky, created in 1979 when Judge Macauley Smith and Emilie Smith donated the land to the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves, the first nature preserve in the state system. Rolling fields, streams, and forests on the property surround a homestead dating to the eighteenth century, including the 1844 built Presley Tyler house, and the site has been used since 1981 by Jefferson County Public Schools for an outdoor environmental education program that draws about 10,000 students a year. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Tyler Settlement Rural Historic District.
