Khao Yai National Park is a national park in Thailand, established in 1962 as the country's first national park and now its third largest. The park covers a large tract of tropical forest across the Sankamphaeng and Phanom Dong Rak mountain ranges on the southwestern edge of the Khorat Plateau, and it forms the core of the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its exceptional biodiversity, including populations of Asian elephant, gaur and several species of hornbill.

Is Khao Yai National Park the same thing as the World Heritage Site?
No. It is one of five protected areas that together make up the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex.
Not exactly. Khao Yai National Park is the western end of a larger World Heritage property, the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex. UNESCO says the complex covers 615,500 hectares and comprises five almost contiguous protected areas: Khao Yai National Park, Thap Lan National Park, Pang Sida National Park, Ta Phraya National Park and Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary. The park is therefore one component of the listed site, not the whole of it.
