Khao Yai National Park is a national park in Thailand, established in 1962 as the country's first national park and now its third largest. The park covers a large tract of tropical forest across the Sankamphaeng and Phanom Dong Rak mountain ranges on the southwestern edge of the Khorat Plateau, and it forms the core of the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its exceptional biodiversity, including populations of Asian elephant, gaur and several species of hornbill.
