Garbhanga Wildlife Sanctuary protects an urban fringe forest and watershed about 15 kilometers southwest of Guwahati City in Assam, India, bordering the state of Meghalaya. Declared a wildlife sanctuary by Assam Gazette notification on April 7, 2022, it is classified IUCN Category IV and covers about 117 square kilometers. Serving as the key urban wildlife site and catchment area for Guwahati, it holds recorded populations of 36 mammal species, 219 bird species, 38 reptile species, and 139 tree species, including hoolock gibbons and Malayan giant squirrels, and provides watershed protection and eco tourism functions under the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
