Leesylvania State Park lies in southeastern Prince William County, Virginia, on land donated to the state in 1978 by businessman Daniel K. Ludwig, dedicated as a park in 1985 and opened full time in 1992. The roughly 542 acre park, classified under IUCN protected landscape category V, is managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and includes the Leesylvania archeological site and the Freestone Point Confederate battery, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It offers riverfront recreation on the Potomac alongside its historic and archaeological features.
