Lemmenjoki National Park spans the municipalities of Inari and Kittila in Lapland, in northern Finland. Established in 1956 and later expanded twice to reach 2,850 square kilometers, it is the largest national park in Finland and one of the largest in Europe, named for the 80 kilometer Lemmenjoki River that runs through it. It is classified under IUCN category Ib as a wilderness area.
