Prek Toal is a bird sanctuary and Ramsar wetland site in the northwest corner of the Tonle Sap, the great freshwater lake of Cambodia, in Battambang Province near Siem Reap, and lies within the larger Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve. Covering about 42,000 hectares under the Cambodian Ministry of Environment, it was formally designated a Ramsar site on October 2, 2015, and is known for concentrating rare waterbirds and rich biodiversity as the dry season shrinks the lake around it.
