Wolong National Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, established in 1963 and substantially expanded in 1975 specifically to protect the giant panda and its bamboo forest habitat in the eastern foothills of the Qionglai Mountains. It houses a leading giant panda breeding and research center, alongside wild panda populations and other rare species including the red panda and snow leopard. The reserve forms part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries UNESCO World Heritage Site and is administered by China's national forestry and grassland authorities.
