Alsace is a cultural region and territorial collectivity in the Grand Est region of northeastern France, on the west bank of the upper Rhine bordering Germany and Switzerland. Covering 8,280 square kilometers with a population of 1,919,745 as of January 2021 and anchored by its largest city, Strasbourg, Alsace reflects centuries of blended German and French influence.
