Rivers
The Yangtze is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world, running roughly 6,300 kilometers from its glacial source on the Tibetan Plateau eastward across China to the East China Sea near Shanghai. It divides China roughly into north and south, drains a fifth of the country's land area, and is dammed at the Three Gorges by the largest hydroelectric power station on Earth by installed capacity.
