The eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality, created in 2000, that includes the city of Durban and the surrounding towns of KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. It is one of the eleven districts of KwaZulu-Natal. As of 2011 it had 3,442,361 inhabitants, most of whom spoke isiZulu.
