Bavaria, officially the Free State of Bavaria, is a landlocked state of Germany, bordering Baden-Wurttemberg, Hesse, Thuringia and Saxony, as well as Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic. Its December 2023 population was 13,435,062 across an area of 70,541.58 square kilometers, and its capital is Munich.
