The Ashanti Region is located in the southern part of Ghana and is the third largest of the country's 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 square kilometers, about 10.2 percent of Ghana's total land area. Its capital is Kumasi, and the 2021 census recorded a population of 5,440,463.
