Burunga Province is one of the five provinces of Burundi created in the country's 2025 administrative reorganization, formed by merging the former Bururi, Makamba and Rutana provinces together with communes previously belonging to Rumonge and Gitega provinces. It is the largest of Burundi's five current provinces by area, covering about 6,206 square kilometers, and recorded a population of 2,118,551 in the 2024 census. Its capital is Makamba, while Rumonge is its largest town.
