Butanyerera Province is one of the five provinces of Burundi created in the country's 2025 administrative reorganization, formed by merging the former Kayanza, Kirundo and Ngozi provinces. It recorded a population of 2,530,206 in the 2024 census, Burundi's second most populous province, across an area of about 4,480 square kilometers. Its capital is Ngozi, also the province's largest urban center, with Kayanza and Kirundo among its other significant towns.
