Grand Est is a landlocked administrative region of northeastern France, formed on 1 January 2016 by the merger of Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine. It has a population of 5,563,378 as of 2023 across an area of about 57,433 square kilometers, and its capital (prefecture) is Strasbourg.
