West Kalimantan, or Kalimantan Barat, is a province of Indonesia on the island of Borneo, bordering the Malaysian state of Sarawak to the north and fronting the Karimata Strait to the west. Its capital is Pontianak, a city that sits almost exactly on the equator at the confluence of the Kapuas and Landak rivers.
