Governance Type

This dimension names who actually governs a protected area, a national park service, an Indigenous community or a private trust. Wikipedia notes that within these places, "human presence or the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. firewood, non-timber forest products, water, ...) is limited," and it is the governing body that sets and enforces exactly those limits. Browsing by governance type groups areas run the same way even when their landscapes differ.
