Buzema is an oasis settlement in the Kufra District of Libya's Cyrenaica region, about 150 kilometers northwest of Kufra, covering an area of roughly 230 square kilometers. An 18-kilometer-long salt lake stretches in a semicircle through the oasis, which supports palm, fig, tamarisk and acacia trees that bear abundant fruit thanks to plentiful fresh water, and which holds the remains of a Toubou fortification system. A village lies on the northwest shore of the lake.
