El Agheila is a coastal city at the southern end of the Gulf of Sidra on the Mediterranean Sea, in far western Cyrenaica, Libya. Its district administration has changed several times: placed in Ajdabiya District in 1988, removed in 1995, placed back in 2001, and since 2007 has been part of the enlarged Al Wahat District.
