Ondangwa is a town in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia, near the border with Angola along the B1 road. It began as a mission station of the Finnish Missionary Society in 1890 and became a local seat of government in 1914, later serving as an administrative center under British and then South African control. Its 2023 population was 30,364. Ondangwa today functions as a transit hub and district capital, known locally by the motto Your gateway to the North and beyond.
