Bacadweyne is a city in the Mudug region of Somalia, seat of the municipality of the same name. It is an ancient city known for Islamic education, business and the production of salt, and natural salt from Bacadweyne is sold throughout Somalia and Ethiopia. The municipality also governs fertile green zones used by farmers and by cattle and camel herders, and camels raised in the area have long been exported to Saudi Arabia through the Indho Deero companies.
