Garoowe, also spelled Garowe, is the capital city of the Puntland state in northeastern Somalia and the administrative center of the Nugaal region. The city has grown as a seat of government institutions and services, in a territory with a semi-arid climate whose economy rests on trade, livestock, and agriculture.
