Chitungwiza is a city in Harare Province, Zimbabwe, on the southern outskirts of the capital Harare, officially established in 1978. It is Zimbabwe's third most populous urban centre with a population of 371,244 at the 2022 census, connected to Harare by the Seke and Chitungwiza roads. The city grew rapidly through rural-urban migration after the Rhodesian Bush War and was heavily affected by the 2005 slum-clearance campaign Operation Murambatsvina.
