Gabane

Gabane is a village in Kweneng District, Botswana, about fifteen kilometers west of the capital Gaborone, of whose wider metropolitan agglomeration it forms part. Originally home to the BaMalete tribe, whose paramount chief Kgosi Mosadi Seboko is based in nearby Ramotswa, the village shows a generational economic divide in which older residents favor agriculture while younger generations are more urbanized. It has a lively music scene and nightlife, has produced notable musical groups, and fields a football team in the National Premier League. Its population was 14,842 at the 2011 census, up from 10,399 in 2001.
