Hyderabad, also known historically as Neroonkot, is the capital and largest city of the Hyderabad Division in the Sindh province of Pakistan, and the second-largest city in Sindh after Karachi. Founded in 1768 by a local ruler on the site of an earlier settlement, this Hyderabad is a distinct city from Hyderabad, India, the former capital of the princely state of Hyderabad; Pakistan's Hyderabad developed as a major center for bangle-making, textiles and other traditional crafts along the Indus River.
