Kindia is the fourth-largest city in Guinea, located about 137 kilometers northeast of the capital Conakry. Its estimated population in 2008 was 181,126. Kindia serves as the capital of both Kindia Prefecture and Kindia Region and functions as a sub-prefecture of Guinea.
