Kitale is a town in northwestern Kenya, in Trans Nzoia County, an area that was formerly part of the old Rift Valley Province before the 2010 constitution redrew the country's counties. The town lies between Mount Elgon and the Cherangany Hills at an elevation of around 1,900 meters, and its population was recorded at 162,174 in the 2019 census. Kitale is served by Kitale Airport.
