Malanje is the capital of Malanje Province in Angola, located about 380 kilometers east of the national capital, Luanda. The city held a population of about 455,000, with its wider municipality reaching 506,847, and it lies near the Calandula waterfalls, the rock formations of Pungo Andongo, and the Capanda Dam.
