Morogoro is a city in eastern Tanzania and capital of Morogoro Region, about 196 kilometres west of Dar es Salaam. It is home to Sokoine University of Agriculture and to APOPO's HeroRATS programme, which trains rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis, and had a population of 471,409 at the 2022 census.
