Ndola is Zambia's third largest city by size and population, with 627,503 residents at the 2022 census, ranking after the capital Lusaka and after Kitwe, and it is second only to Lusaka in infrastructure development. It serves as the industrial and commercial center of the Copperbelt, Zambia's copper-mining region, and is capital of Copperbelt Province, lying just 10 kilometers from the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ndola is also home to Zambia's first modern stadium, the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
