Nzerekore

Nzerekore is the third-largest city in Guinea by population, after the capital Conakry and Kankan, and the largest city in the Guinee forestiere region of the country's southeast. It is the capital of Nzerekore Prefecture and lies about 570 kilometers southeast of Conakry, serving as a commercial and economic center known for its market and for silversmithing. The city was the center of an uprising against French colonial rule in 1911, and its population, estimated between about 230,000 and 400,000, has grown significantly as migration from civil wars in neighboring Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast pushed people into the city.
