Oyem, also known by the Fang name Nkoum Ekiegn, is a city in northern Gabon and the capital of both Woleu-Ntem Province and the Woleu Department. Situated on a plateau along the N2 road linking Libreville to the Cameroonian border at Kye-Ossi, it recorded 60,685 inhabitants at the 2013 census, making it Gabon's fifth most populous urban commune after Libreville, Port-Gentil, Franceville, and Owendo.
