Richards Bay is a city in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, established in 1969 on a 30-square-kilometre lagoon of the Mhlatuze River. It has the deepest natural harbour on the African continent and one of the country's largest ports, and had a population of 57,387 at the 2022 count.
