Siteki

Siteki is a town in the Lubombo district of eastern Eswatini, lying west of the Lebombo mountains, at an elevation of about 619 meters. Its name recalls a declaration by King Mbandzeni permitting his troops to marry, and the town appeared in earlier census records under the name Stegi. Population grew from 612 residents in 1956 and 1,457 in 1966 to an estimated 6,381 by 2013. The town holds two royal homes, is served by Siteki Airfield, hosts a refugee camp at nearby Mpaka, and is the birthplace of the politician and businesswoman Savannah Maziya.
