Sunyani is a city in Ghana and the capital of both the Sunyani Municipal District and the Bono Region, located about 169 kilometers northwest of Kumasi and 480 kilometers from Accra. The 2010 census recorded it as the country's sixth-largest city with a population of 75,366, home to Akan, Ewe, Ga-Adangbe and other ethnic groups. Its economy is largely agrarian, built on cocoa bean production, and it hosts the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sunyani along with the Sunyani Technical University and the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
