Teyateyaneng

Teyateyaneng is a town in the Berea district of Lesotho, about 40 kilometers northeast of the capital Maseru, on a high plateau at 1,693 meters elevation. Its name derives from two rivers, the Tebe-tebe to the north and the Teja-tejana to the south, both tributaries of the Mohokare or Caledon River that marks Lesotho's border with South Africa; the town was founded in 1886 as the capital of Berea by the chief Gabasheane Masupha. A 2005 count recorded 75,115 residents, and the town is known as the country's athletic, art and entertainment capital, with retail businesses and carpet weaving and tapestry factories, alongside the long-established Lioli Football Club, based there since 1934.
