Lake Victoria

Also Known As Nam Lolwe The Luo name, meaning roughly "endless expanse of water." · Nyanza A generic word for "lake" in several Bantu languages of the region, used historically as part of the name Victoria Nyanza.
Lakes

Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and the largest tropical lake in the world, shared by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Fed mostly by direct rainfall and countless small streams, it is the principal source of the White Nile and sits at the heart of the African Great Lakes system, though it is comparatively shallow next to the deep rift lakes nearby, Tanganyika and Malawi.
