Agulhas National Park

Agulhas National Park occupies the Agulhas Plain in South Africa's Western Cape, in the southern Overberg region, and was established on 14 September 1998. One of the country's smallest national parks at about 210 square kilometers, it stretches along the coast between Gansbaai and Struisbaai and holds around 2,000 native plant species along with wetlands supporting birds and amphibians. Its central landmark is Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa and the notional meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and the park also protects the second oldest lighthouse in South Africa, fynbos vegetation, historic shipwrecks, and the productive Agulhas Bank fishing grounds.
