Alberto de Agostini National Park is a protected area in the Magallanes Region of Chile, established on January 22, 1965 and covering about 1,460,000 hectares. It includes the Cordillera Darwin, the final land based stretch of the Andes before the range breaks into islands descending toward the Beagle Channel, with fjords and glaciers including the large Marinelli Glacier and the glacier studded stretch known as the Avenue of the Glaciers. The park was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2005 together with neighboring Cabo de Hornos National Park, and its subpolar Magellanic forests support guanacos, marine otters, dolphins, whales and seabirds including albatrosses.
