Bandhavgarh National Park is a national park in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, India, covering about 105 square kilometers as a national park core within a much larger 1,536 square kilometer tiger reserve. It was designated a national park in 1968 and became a tiger reserve in 1993, after centuries as a hunting ground for the former princely state of Rewa. The park holds one of the highest densities of Bengal tigers of any protected area in India, alongside dense sal forests and open grasslands.
