Borgefjell National Park

Borgefjell National Park is an undeveloped national park straddling the border of Trondelag and Nordland counties in Norway, along the Swedish frontier. First established in 1963 and enlarged in 1973 and 2003, it now covers 1,447 square kilometers spanning four municipalities. Its western granite peaks, the highest being Kvigtinden at 1,699 meters, give way to fertile slopes, marshes, lakes and rivers, and the park is known for its rare Arctic foxes alongside wolverines, lynx and brown bears; with few trails, it remains possible to hike for days without meeting another person.
