Cahuita National Park

Cahuita National Park is a terrestrial and marine national park on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica in Limon Province, adjoining the town of Cahuita and established on December 27, 1982. The IUCN category II park, part of the Caribbean La Amistad Conservation Area, protects about 10.7 square kilometers of beach and lowland alongside 224 square kilometers of marine area holding a reef of more than 600 acres with at least 35 coral species, and it serves as a nesting ground for sea turtles. It is home to sloths, capuchin monkeys, tapirs, and howler monkeys, and is Costa Rica only national park with no fixed entrance fee, relying instead on visitor donations.
