Diria National Park

Diria National Park lies in Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica, south of Santa Cruz, within the Tempisque Conservation Area. It was first protected as a zone by presidential decree in 1991, became a national wildlife refuge two years later under the name Diria National Forest Wildlife Refuge, and was finally declared a national park in 2004. Its tropical and cloud forests, covering about 5,549 hectares by the official park boundary map, shelter deer, howler monkeys, anteaters, and peccaries alongside more than 140 recorded bird species and at least 382 plant species.
