Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park is a national park in southern Mongolia, established in 1993 and expanded to its current extent in 2000, protecting nearly 27,000 square kilometres of the Gobi Desert and making it the largest national park in Mongolia. The park spans dramatic desert landscapes including the Khongoryn Els sand dunes, the Yolyn Am ice canyon and the Bayanzag "Flaming Cliffs," a site significant for dinosaur fossil discoveries, and it is administered by Mongolia's Ministry of Environment and Green Development. It protects snow leopard, wild Bactrian camel and Gobi bear populations within one of the least disturbed desert ecosystems in Central Asia.
