Guindy National Park

Guindy National Park is a protected area in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, covering about 2.7 square kilometers, making it one of the smallest national parks in the country and one of the few located within a major city. Established in 1977 and declared a national park in 1978, it extends the grounds around Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor of Tamil Nadu, and combines forest, scrubland, lakes and streams. The park supports more than 130 bird species and 14 mammal species, including blackbuck and spotted deer, and adjoins the Guindy Snake Park and Children Park.
