Hunsruck-Hochwald National Park lies in the Hunsruck region spanning the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, and is the only national park located in either of those two states. Established in March 2015, it was Germany's newest national park at the time and covers roughly 10,000 hectares of upland forests and fields, including the Erbeskopf, the highest peak of the Hunsruck.
