Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park protects the Yaeyama Islands of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, first designated on May 15, 1972 as Iriomote National Park and expanded and renamed in August 2007 to include Ishigaki Island, covering about 1,222 square kilometers. It spans Iriomote, Kohama, Kuro and Taketomi islands as well as Ishigaki, and is best known as the habitat of the Iriomote cat. The park also includes the Mariyudu Falls on Iriomote Island.
